The President Calls Relatives of Shot Military Soldiers to the Presidential Residence
Former President Donald Trump announced on Sunday that he has invited the loved ones of a Guard member fatally shot last week to come to the presidential home.
He noted that he spoke to her parents and they were “devastated”.
Information on the Heartbreaking Shooting
US army specialist Beckstrom, 20, was killed in a attack on last Wednesday in DC.
Her colleague, Andrew Wolfe, twenty-four years old, is still in the hospital in grave state.
Gatherings across the state have occurred in their honor.
Presidential Call
The president explained he’s talked about a meeting at the presidential residence for the loved ones of both individuals of the state National Guard.
“I said: ‘When you’re prepared, because that’s a difficult moment, come to the White House. We’re going to pay tribute to her,” Trump told reporters. “And in the same way with him, no matter the outcome.”
Public Support
Attendees came together over the past few days at a local school in the state to honor Beckstrom.
Both she and Wolfe had been fulfilling duties with the state guard as part of Trump’s federal initiative to assist policing efforts in the capital.
Remembering Sarah Beckstrom
“She was the individual that instructors hoped for. She behaved with inner fortitude, a bright grin and a upbeat demeanor that inspired those around her,” the principal, the leader of her alma mater, told the media. “She was sweet, caring and always willing to help others.”
Funeral arrangements for Beckstrom are in the process of planning.
Legal Actions and Government Adjustments
Officials have accused a 29-year-old individual from Afghanistan with a charge of murder and two counts of assault with intent to kill while armed.
The tragedy led the Trump administration to halt asylum applications and cease issuing visas to holders of travel documents.
Condition of the Airman
Andrew Wolfe, a resident of the city, enlisted in 2019 and is a 2019 graduate of his local high school, according to the news agency.
He is still undergoing care and is “battling to survive”, the state’s governor Patrick Morrisey mentioned on television.
The state’s top lawyer Bondi told the program that she planned to visit Wolfe’s family.
Legacy of Sarah Beckstrom
Sarah, from Summersville, graduated from Webster County High in mid-2023 and enlisted soon after, serving as a law enforcement officer with honor, as stated by the West Virginia National Guard.
“She had a lot of goodness and she definitely had courage,” the governor informed the gathering at the service. “Though her time ended too soon, she has left a mark that’s going to last forever.”
